Tips For Using Office Furniture To Improve Productivity

Posted on

If you are the manager of an office, there is a good chance that you are interested in improving the productivity of your office. However, you might not know about the best way to go about doing this. One surprising option that you have is to improve the furniture in your office to increase productivity. Here are some tips for doing so.

1. Invest in Bright Colored Furniture

Bright colors are good for productivity because they help keep people awake. You might not want to paint the walls of your office a vibrant orange and yellow gradient because that is going to be overwhelming and distracting for your employees. However, in small doses, bright colors can be very helpful. Invest in bright colored furniture for that perfect amount of eye popping stimulation. If you don't want to buy all new furniture, consider getting brightly colored furniture covers for your existing furniture.

2. Invest in Standing Desks

Another good investment is the standing desk. Sometimes, people get sleepy when they sit for long periods of time. Standing desks can help keep people awake and working more productively. Be sure to get adjustable desks so that people can ensure that they get a height that is best for their comfort levels. Make standing desks available to everyone, but do not force anyone to use one because some people will get more tired standing than sitting.

3. Invest in Ergonomic Chairs and Keyboards

If many of your employees are going to be typing all day on a computer, consider getting them keyboards that will help prevent them from getting carpal tunnel syndrome or experiencing any other discomfort. When a person experiences discomfort, his or her work pace slows down and he or she is much less productive. Using ergonomic furniture and keyboards can help keep this productivity reduction from occurring.

4. Use Mirrors to Bring More Light Into the Office

Finally, consider investing in mirrors to bring more natural light into the office. Employees that get more natural light have an easier time sleeping at night, which allows them to be  more productive during the day. If you don't have a lot of windows in your office, you will need to redirect the light using mirrors in order to increase the amount of light that your employees can get.
